"Grey's Anatomy" season 12 new cast member Martin Henderson recently opened up about his character Nathan Riggs, and his relationship with Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd).
In an interview with executive producer Betsy Beers on her podcast "Shondaland Revealed," Henderson talked about what it was like joining the cast of the long-running hit ABC series.
According to the actor, he felt like an outsider at first when he arrived on set. He also noticed how close everyone was, so he felt a little bit intimidated to act all chummy with his co-stars.
However, it didn't take the actor very long to warm up with his co-star, who he said are all very nice.
In fact, after their filming for an episode wrapped up, everyone approached him, and they tried to talk to me. At one point, they even hugged him, and made him very much welcomed to be part of the show.
Meanwhile, Beers also asked Henderson about his character Nathan's feud or history with Owen.
On Thursday's episode, Owen wasn't really happy to see Nathan at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.
In the upcoming episode, Owen and Nathan will have an encounter that could turn the lives of the doctors upside down.
Unfortunately, Henderson couldn't divulge any spoilers from the upcoming episode, but the actor urged fans to wait and see what's the real deal between the two characters.
Some fans are speculating on the possibility of Nathan and Owen becoming workmates in the past. Others believe that the two could also be half-brothers.
"Grey's Anatomy" season 12 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
