Tetsuya Nomura, the director of "Kingdom Hearts III" recently gave some teasers about the game's global development and returning characters during a special event at D23 Japan. While the information was small, it still gives a possible hint on the details with regard to the upcoming game.
The news came out through Famitsu Weekly as translated by the "Kingdom Hearts" fan website KH13. A summary from the report provides a comprehensive peek at the exclusive gathering.
Although the event mainly focused on musical performances and testimony from the series' Japanese voice actors, "Kingdom Hearts III" formed a part of the event. A promo was privately premiered highlighting new combat mechanics and an unknown Nobody, according to Gamespot.
For those fans expecting to receive a first glimpse of "Kingdom Hearts III's" Disney-themed worlds, there was a disappointment. However, Square Enix has not ignored that critical element. Worlds were not revealed during the event because "we're moving into worlds that we cannot, at this moment, show you."
The event as well saw some details being given concerning the private promo's new Nobody. According to the director, he is certain that some fans are aware of Nobody's identity. The scythe-wielding enemy previously seems non-descript, although it is acknowledgeable that the weapon might be a reflection of Marluxia from "Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories."
Marluxia was the 11th member of Organization XIII that was betrayed at the end by his colleague, Axel. Perhaps the featured Nobody was created during that dispute.
Even though not necessarily new, the teaser concluded with allusions that the game will be better than its precursors by featuring new forms of attack and advanced party member coordination.
