Canadian-French songwriter and singer Avril Lavigne is reported to be struggling to get well from an undisclosed health issue. Replying to a tweet, Lavigne told a fan to "keep me in your prayers."
A fan posted a tweet on December 7 which read "#GetWellSoonAvril #PrayForAvril" to which Lavigne replied with a prompt "thank you" using the @AvrilMusicChart Twitter account.
Lavigne, born in Ontario, did not disclose her illness. On the topic of whether Lavigne was writing new music, Lavigne said that she feels bad as she did not inform her fans about the reason of her absence, but Lavigne confirmed that she was not feeling well and was suffering from "some health issues."
A representative for the pop star did not also clear what the illness was or its severity, but cleared that the singer was not currently pregnant.
In 2013, Lavigne launcher her fifth self-titled music album, which features "Hello Kitty", "Here's To Never Growing Up" and "Rock N Roll." Her record ranked fifth at the Billboard 200 during the album's debut.
Lavigne married Chad Kroeger, a frontman from the Nickelback band, in July 2013. The latter denied the speculations in November that the married couple were having a divorce.
