Microsoft released half a dozen of its redesigned MSN (The Microsoft Network) applications for Android, iOS and Amazon users.

MSN apps, including Money, Health and Fitness, Food and Drink, Sports, Weather and News, were originally made for the Redmond company's Windows 8 operating system and its line of Windows Phone models. The suite of apps is now available for download on the Amazon Appstore, Google Play and iTunes.

"The apps ... let you customize and organize the information you want according to your interests," Suzanne Choney, from the Microsoft News Center, wrote in a post on the firm's official blog.

The MSN News app features reading content from U.S.-based sources, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, AOL, Conde Nast and CNN.

Additionally, the news app also features global content coming from The Guardian, The Yomiuiri Shimbun, Sky News, The Telegraph, Hindustan Times, NDTV and Le Monde.

Its sports app gives users access to game details, live scores, schedules, rosters, standings and image and video galleries of more than 150 leagues around the world.

Meanwhile, the Health and Fitness app records the user's steps, runs, cardio training and even diets.

Microsoft said that the MSN apps are fully customizable and that users can organize information according to their interests.

The release of the apps follows the revamping of the MSN website.

The tech giant now has numerous apps on Amazon, Android and iOS platforms including OneDrive, Xbox apps, Bing and its Microsoft Office apps. Microsoft also released several of its experimental apps developed by its Microsoft Garage division.
