Director Bryan Singer has revealed the release date of the first trailer of his upcoming Marvel Comics film "X-Men: Apocalypse."
In his interview with Collider, Singer admitted the first "X-Men: Apocalypse" trailer would hit theaters on Dec. 18, which is the release date of J.J. Abrams' forthcoming space sci-fi film "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens." The director added that the trailer was somewhat of a teaser but it was definitely more than a minute and it had a ton of cool stuff in it.
"Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" is set as one of the biggest movie this year, according to Cinema Blend. In line with this, it is a logical move for Fox to release its first "X-Men: Apocalypse" theater to the big screen, since many people would be able to see it secondary to their excitement to see Abrams' film. In fact, it will be joined by the trailer of Joe Russo and Anthony Russo's "Captain America: Civil War."
Meanwhile, fans are set to see the mutants in Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse," which centers on the rise of En Sabah Nur, also known as Apocalypse, as he recruits his powerful Horsemen to help him destroy humanity. To prevent their archenemy from fulfilling his plan of massive destruction, Professor X must lead a team of young mutants.
"X-Men: Apocalypse" stars Ian McKellen, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Olivia Munn, Lana Condor, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Ben Hardy, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, Rose Byrne, Josh Helman, and Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse, among others.
Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on May 27, 2016 while Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" hits theaters on Dec. 18. The Russos' "Captain America: Civil War" premieres on May 6, 2016.
