Adele's latest album "25" has been leaked to The Pirate Bay and Kickass Torrents. It is ironic that the album was leaked on the very day when the fans were told that the much-anticipated album was not going to be available on streaming sites.
According to the New York Times, the "Hello" singer was involved in the decision to ban the album from streaming sites. This is in contrast to the numerous studies, which show that that making tracks available for legal streaming reduces the chances of illegal downloads.
Adele is not alone in doing so. In the past, Beyonce and Taylor Swift have also not released their tracks and albums on Spotify. It seems that Adele is simply following in their footsteps.
On the other hand, it appears that The Pirate Bay is now the only alternative left for all the torrent lovers. It has also been plagued by numerous issues in the past but it always manages to bounce back on its feet stronger than ever.
The newly launched Popcorn Time has been shut down by the Motion Picture Association. The site advertised its relaunch on Reddit and within a few hours, it received an angry email from the Motion Picture Association's Jan van Voorn.
In the email obtained by Torrent Freak, Voorn said, "Without prejudice to our contention that you are already well aware of the extensive infringements of copyright, this Notice fixes you with actual knowledge of facts and circumstances from which illegal activities... are apparent."
