Conspiracy theorists and alien believer think that a photo tweeted by astronaut Scott Kelly on Nov. 19 has a UFO on it.
The New York Post reports that the image shared by Kelly on his 233rd day at the International Space Station of a starry night over India includes an object with two bright lights which could be seen at the top right part of the photo.
The bright lights did not escape the attention of Sonofmabarker, an alien hunter, who posted his observation of YouTube. Sonofmabarker notes that the lights are apparently very large and constructed. The post became viral with almost 350,000 views in four days.
Another UFOlogist, secureteam10, thinks it is a long, white UFO, while Scott Waring, editor of Ufosightingdaily, believes it was intentional on the part of the astronaut to show the image with the "UFO."
Waring estimates on his blog that the cigar-shaped UFO with a metallic body is about 25 meters long and 150 to 200 meters away. He thinks that "Scott was trying to hint at the existence of aliens."
However, sonofmabarker's posting, as expected triggered a debate between UFO believers and non-believers.
Wij. Taybe says he finds it unusual that some people still believe in UFO because of the various kinds of interventions, referring to digital manipulation.
Tommy Sasaki agrees, pointing out that the lights as part of the space station. 34thncrensha and nothingspecial98 also think it is part of the ISS, specifically a light reflection of the window where Scott was looking out. Omstrat, who also says its likely a reflection of the glass, advises alien freaks to "Go light another bone and try again."
But IDOALL disagrees, saying that the ISS is as large as a jumbo jet, but it is barely visibly at 40,000 feet away. LeoM23 chides NASA for being so secretive and cutting off live steams "as soon as an object flies on the sight of the camera."
