Porsche is ordering a recall for 205 of its limited edition 918 Spyders as a "precautionary measure" due to defective chassis components.

The Spyder recall was announced by the Volkswagen AG unit on Tuesday.

The defects were discovered by Porsche during the in-house Spyder quality testing, but no complaints were filed.

According to Porsche, the Spyder fix will take around two days for completion. The automaker has already contacted its customers to inform them about the defect and to arrange a workshop visit at the start of next year. The fix will be of no charge.

Only 918 of the hybrid supercars, which currently are the automaker's most expensive model at $845,000 each, were manufactured as it was an exclusive Porsche car. The last batch was sold in November.

It is not the first time this year that Porsche ordered a recall for some of its cars. In July, the automaker ordered a recall for five 918 Spyders in the United States due to faulty control arms on the rear suspension, which could snap during racing conditions.

According to TopSpeed, the 918 Spyder can produce up to 887 horsepower with a 940 pount-feet of torque. The 918 Spyder is also an all-wheel drive system, which makes the most of the raw power through a seven-speed. One amazing feat of the 918 Spyder is that it can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in less than 3 seconds. The hybrid supercar also has a top speed of 211 miles per hour.
