Following negative feedback from the audience and critics, "Superman III" has been turned into a horror film in a trailer parody.
A Superman fan had opted to edit the repulsive "Superman" film into an attention-grabbing horror trailer parody from the website One Perfect Shot.
The trailer features a realm in which the raging Man of Steel employed his superpowers to cause turmoil wherever he goes. Nobody can stop the superhero, from causing an immense oil spill to breaking bottles at a local bar. In contrary to his superhero image, Superman was portrayed as an evil, a monster that a number of his archenemies wanted to mimic him as, according to Cinema Blend.
Released in 1983, "Superman III" had become a "resounding critical thud," following the "high-water" mark of the first two "Superman" films, according to Entertainment Weekly. In line with this, a fan-cut trailer with a horror take of the film was probably made to compare the horrors of a bad action film and an actual horror film, as indicated by the publication.
Directed by Richard Lester, the 1983 film "Superman III" followed Superman split into two - the good Clark Kent and the bad Man of Steel - by a synthetic kryptonite laced with tobacco bar. The film starred Christopher Reeve as Kent/ Superman, Margot Kidder as Lois Lane, Richard Pryor, Jackie Cooper, Marc McClure, Annette O'Toole, and Annie Ross, among others.
Meanwhile, Superman is set to be seen next in Zack Snyder's upcoming film "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," which serves as the path to the rise of the superhero team Justice League. The film stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, Jesse Eisenberg, and Amy Adams, among others.
Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on Mar. 25, 2016.
