Tom Cruise has completely abandoned wife Katie Holmes and their daughter Suri because of Scientology. Multiple reports suggest that the actor had to give up any connection he had to anyone who does not belong to the Church.
As reported by Yahoo! News, the "Mission: Impossible" actor has not seen his daughter for over two years. The outlet held that his involvement with Church of Scientology has prevented him from fulfilling any of his obligations with his wife and daughter. It was also said that the actor had lost interest in being a hands on father.
Marc Headley, a former member of Scientology, speculated that the Church is prohibiting Cruise from interacting with non-believers, even if that means shunning his own family.
"It's possible Tom won't see Suri because he thinks Katie and her family are speaking negatively about him and Scientology," Headley said.
He, however, also pointed out that Cruise could just be busy with his prior commitments. After all, the actor has been occupied shooting back-to-back films.
This is not the first time that Cruise has been accused of abandoning Holmes and Suri. Leah Remini, another former member of the Church, revealed that the actor left his child crying on the bathroom floor.
In her book, "Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology," Remini shared that Cruise chose to ignore her daughter, even if she was crying non-stop. She also confirmed that the Church prohibits its members to connect with anyone who has committed a "suppressive act," even if it means ignoring one's family member.
