Roundabout Theatre Company said on Jan. 4, Monday, that "The Amazing Spider-Man" star Emma Stone will extend her stay in "Cabaret," a Broadway revival. With Alan Cumming, Stone is staying for another two weeks at Studio 54.
Stone, who is better known for her films "Easy A", Crazy, Stupid, Love", and "The Amazing Spiderman 2" took over Michelle Williams role in November. Her Broadway debut, originally, is scheduled to end on February 1, but is now moved to February 15.
Featuring the book of Joe Masteroff and the scores of Fred Ebb and John Kander including "Tomorrow Belongs to Me" and "Willkommen", Cabaret is inspired by stories of Christopher Isherwood and the "I Am a Camera" drama by John Van Druten. The production under Rob Marshall and Sam Mendes is to run until March 29.
"Cabaret" is set in Berlin in the year 1931, featuring the Kit Kat Klub intertwining with the affairs of the outside world. The whole plot gets precarious as the Nazis take over their indulgent community.
The show is also featuring Tony nominees Danny Burstein as Herr Shultz and Linda Emond as Fraulein Schneider. The characters Fraulein Kost and Ernst Ludwig are portrayed by actors Hani Furstenberg and Aaron Krohn, respectively.
Alan Cumming, her co-star will continue in the play also until the finale on March 29. A new actor for the character Sally Bowles will be soon announced.
Stone on "The Tonight Show" told Jimmy Fallon that she's always wanted to be in the show. According to her, "I saw Cabaret in the 'big apple' with Alan for the first time back when I was a kid."
