High-end fashion designer Moschino has announced it will launch a Super Moschino collection that pays homage to the famous Nintendo character first featured in the 1985 hit video game "Super Mario Bros." The The Italian company has teamed up with Nintendo just in time for the holiday shopping season to celebrate Mario's 30th anniversary with a collection that includes t-shirts, sweaters, belts, wallets, and backpacks.
Besides clothing, the Super Mario collection will include various colorful bags. Leather accessories in Super Moschino also include bucket bags, according to PC Mag. The collection's items will also include various objects from Mario's adventures, including his taller brother Luigi, Princess Peach, Bowser, mushrooms, coins, and stars.
Moschino has not released any details about the exact clothing and accessory items that will be included in the collection, or their prices. However, expensive price points should be expected due to the company's existing high-end products, such as its $375 Barbie t-shirt. The Mario line will be available December 5, Saturday on Moschino's website and select physical stores worldwide.
Mario's biggest fans might want to add one or two pieces from the Super Moschino collection to their holiday wish list. It would be one way to celebrate the all-time best-selling video game series, and serve as a must-have stocking stuffer for gamers who love old-school Nintendo gaming consoles including the NES, Super Nintendo, and Nintendo 64.
Super Mario is not the first classic character collection from Moschino. It has already launched ones that feature SpongeBob SquarePants, Powerpuff Girls, and Looney Tunes, according to Fashionista.
Luxury watchmaker Romain Jerome also recently unveiled a $19,000 Super Mario Bros. timepiece. It features a 3D playing field, as well as enameled figures such as a jumping Mario, mushroom, and cloud.
