New "Avengers: Infinity War" details will feature the Defenders teaming with Earth's Mightiest Heroes, as well as a possible Captain America vs Hulk fight.
"Captain America: Civil War" director Anthony Russo stated in an interview that Netfix series The Defenders could be added in film, but it will be a tricky task. Russo told Super Interresente (via ComicBookMovie) that it will be a hard process for the story, citing that the movie universe is controlled by Kevin Feige, while other people control other products even if they are from Marvel. To put it simply, the movie, TV series and Netflix series are assigned by different people and integrating these factors could be difficult for them to handle.
Some of the Marvel characters such as X-Men and Fantastic Four are owned by Fox and they have limited control over what happens to the story, but Russo was confident that anything is possible as Spider-Man is added in the Marvel Cinematic Universe thanks to the joint partnership between Marvel and Sony.
The Defenders in the MCU is comprised of street level heroes from Netflix series such as Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist. Unlike the Marvel movies and "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." TV series, the Netflix Marvel series represents a more darker, gritty and often deep storylines giving more perspective to lesser known heroes to the light hearted ones of its film counterpart.
In other news, it seems that another fight between two Avenger members could possibly happened in "Avengers: Infinity War" as writer Matthew Lupinacci hinted a Captain America vs Hulk fight in the film.
According Lupinacci, the fight could happen in the film although he did not state how will it happen. However, he cited that Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) has already fought his fellow teammates Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) in several occasions. Phase 3 films such as "Captain America: Civil War" and "Thor: Ragnarok" will feature several Avengers facing each other like Captain America (Chris Evans) against Iron Man and Thor against Hulk before the latter will team up to save Asgard and the whole universe against a bigger threat like Thanos and the Infinity Stones in "Avengers: Civil War". This leads to Cap the only opponent Hulk has not yet face in battle and Lupinacci hopes it could happen soon, Moviepilot reported.
It is also rumored that the Avengers could team-up with the Guardians of the Galaxy and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) to stop Thanos in the film and may lead to several deaths of some of its members hinting a new line-up of Avengers in future projects.
"Avengers: Infinity War" part 1 is slated to be release on May 4, 2018, while part 2 is scheduled on May 3, 2019.
