Thirty-eight years after his demise, the King's legacy still lives on. Paul McCartney, Beatle's lead singer, said Elvis was a "big influence" to their band's music.

Other members of the iconic band agreed to this. In a video clip in "The Beatles Anthology," the band shared their excitement for having met the King. In the video, Ringo Starr, Paula and George Harrison were seen getting giddy as they shared the experience. They also said it was the "highlight" of their L.A. trip.

The King and The Beatles bonded over "tea at the back of the car." It was also reported that the band was stoned when they went to Presley's mansion around Beverly Hills in August 1965.

Meanwhile, thousands of Elvis fans gathered in Memphis, Tenn. to commemorate this event.

According to ABC News, the celebration was joined by Priscilla Presley. They also created a cake for Elvis. Graceland's director of public relations Kevin Kern said the cake was fitting for Elvis since it had eight tiers to represent for each decade.

His daughter, Lisa Marie, joined in the celebration as well.

There are other events planned to celebrate Elvis this week. There is one in Memphis which will include various musical performances and a public screening of Elvis' movies, "Viva Las Vegas" and "Jailhouse Rock." There will also be a Q&A session for the fans.

Moreover, there will be an auction of Elvis memorabilia in Graceland. One of the most awaited bids is Elvis' first ever recording in 1953.

Kern said Graceland will have an Elvis celebration all year.

Elvis Presley was born on Jan. 8, 1935 and died at the age of 42 in August 1977.
