Google has made the factory images of its newest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update for the Nexus lineup. The update brings along more than 200 emojis.
The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow factory images are now available for the newly released Google Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X handsets. The update also brings along support LTE Band 12 for T-Mobile network on both handsets, Android Police reported.
Apart from the aforementioned handsets, the Android 6.0.1 update factory images are also available for Nexus 6, Nexus 5, Nexus 9, Nexus 7 (2013) and Nexus Player. The update brings along over 200 new emojis. However, the multi-racial emojis are not available in this update, Softpedia News reported.
The update also brings back the "Until Next Alarm" feature for DND. Also, after installing the update, users can double-press on Power button to quickly start the camera. As of this writing, the Android 6.0.1 update is not available for non-Nexus devices.
Google is said to be working with smartphone OEMs like Samsung, Motorola and HTC to release Android 6.0.1 update. Mo Versi, VP for product management with HTC has confirmed that the unlocked HTC One M9 users will receive the Android 6.0.1 update within this month. Owners of unlocked HTC One M8 in Hungary have already received Android 6.0 update
Samsung has released the Android 6.0 update for Galaxy Note 4 users. The Galaxy Note 5 handsets are scheduled to receive the latest Android build in this month. Instead of Android 6.0, it is likely to receive the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update.
One needs to be aware of the fact that the Android 6.0.1 OTA (over-the-air) update will be available in the following days. Users who do not want to wait longer can go ahead and install the factory images manually for aforementioned Nexus devices.
