One of boxing's all-time greats, Roy Jones, Jr. could finally consider the end of his career after he was knocked out in the fourth round.

Fighting at the cruiserweight division at age 46, Jones wanted to make his comeback bid but it was stalled by Welsh Fighter Enzo Maccarinelli by a brutal 4th round knockout that saw Jones dropping like a log.

Jones was fighting in Moscow, his first fight in the Russian capital as he was recently granted Russian citizenship in September.

CBS Sports suggested that Jones should retire, as he already cemented his legacy in the sport and has already proven himself in other ventures.

"Saturday's loss marked Jones Jr.'s first defeat since 2011, and he still boasts a 62-9 overall record," CBS said. "But considering Jones Jr.'s age, it's worth wondering if this is the end of his career. Jones has already proven his worth as a fight commentator with HBO and is also helping to train younger fighters on their way up. It might be time to hang up the gloves."

His opponent was 35-year old Enzo Maccarinelli. Bloody Elbow noted that he was a former WBO cruiserweight champion himself. They also mention some interesting notes on the fight.

"After they played a rousing rendition of the Russian national anthem with Roy sporting a Russian flag patch above an American one, they got down to work," BE recalled. "Enzo took round one, with not a lot happening. Jones put forth a decent effort in the second round, which was close. It also featured a couple of low blows from Roy."

Bloody Elbow continued: "The third was probably Maccarinelli's, but again fairly close. In the fourth though, he started to hurt RJJ. Jones went down once, but managed to get back up. An uppercut put him down again though, this time for good."

Jones was awarded as Fighter of the Decade way back in the 90s by the Boxing Writers Association of America. Perhaps he should heed the advice to hang up his gloves.
