Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OTA has been unveiled as an update for some Nexus handsets and tablets. Improvements and enhancements are believed to come with this update that can be downloaded also on Android Open Source Project.
The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow over the air update has been confirmed by Google through the Nexus Google Page which also announced the new emojis releases for Nexus. While the accurate date of release for these gadgets has yet to be revealed, devices that are being rumored to have the updates would be the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 6, Nexus Player, Nexus 9 LTE, Nexus 9, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 2013 LTE and Nexus 7 2013, IBN Live reported.
Factory images of this update have been released as well by Google via the AOSP page. Android News Center reported that besides Nexus device rollout, Google is partnering as well with Motorola, Samsung and HTC for the this update on their devices.
The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OTA update is also believed to add more emojis. Reportedly, there will be 200 emojis featured, including "do-not-disturb" controls besides its security enhancements like the new security patches.
Modification in the placement of the multi-tasking, home and back buttons that were located before in the screen's bottom part is also expected with the update. These buttons are said to be put on the screen's edges to make going back to home screen and the navigation easier to do.
