"The View" show has two reasons to be excited for, a brand new year and a brand new host. "Glee" actress Naya Rivera guest hosted on the talk show during Perez's absence which had the viewers speculating.
With a panel of white hosts, including Nicolle Wallace and Rosie O'Donnell, Rivera has shared that "most white people shower more often than ethnics." According to her, she knows this fact because her husband Ryan Dorsey, a white man, showers more than twice each day. Rivera is of Puerto Rican and African-American descent.
On the same day of Rivera's appearance on the show, "The View" announced that Perez will not be in the show not until four months after.
ABC is yet to confirm Perez's official departure announcement. For now, "The View" producers are trying out a few younger co-hosts to take over the vacant seat, Variety reported.
Perez, a "White Men Can't Jump" cast member, has taken herself out of the show for the entire month of January so she could focus on her Broadway's rehearsal and she will not be on the show anytime soon.
A "The View" representative told the TV Line that Perez is currently "in her Broadway rehearsals for a January play. Her status with with us hasn't changed."
In September 2014, Perez joined "The View" reboot, which added Wallace and O'Donnell as hosts. With the show's current ratings, changes could be expected. Perez's next project appearance is in a play by Larry David entitled "Fish in the Dark."
