Shanghai has kept the top spot among China's major cities in terms of salaries, according to a report on Zhaopin.com.
The professional services sector leads among all industries that receive the highest salaries.
In Shanghai, the median average for job openings was 5,891 yuan ($942), which is higher than the average amount of salary at 5,796 yuan in Beijing and 5,302 yuan in Shenzhen. This data is based on a report by the website that analyzed all job postings within Zhaopin.com during the last quarter of the previous year.
The cities of Beijing, Shenzhen, Ningbo and Hangzhou followed from the second to fifth place.
The positions that received the best restitutions were in the professional services sector that included consultant, legal and human resource services, with the average monthly wage of 10,154 yuan.
In all of China, accountancy and assurance positions receive the best salary, totaling an average monthly salary of 9,751 yuan.
The average restitution across China's central and western regions is significantly lower compared to what can be found in China's developed cities.
Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province in central China, is the leading city among western and eastern regions because of its convenient location and transportation.
As for job competition, it was deemed toughest in the northeastern city of Shenyang.
