Samsung could possibly unveil the Galaxy A9 at the CES 2016 event on Jan. 5. The basis of the forecast is the device's recent appearance at the FCC.
Among the known features of the upcoming gadget from the South Korean tech giant includes a 6-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920. The device is also anticipated to have a Snapdragon 620 chipset, an octa-core 1.8GHz CPU and Adreno 510 GPU. The A9 would have 3GB of RAM inside and 32GB of expandable internal storage, reports Phone Arena.
The Galaxy A9 would also have a fingerprint scanner and 13MP rear camera and 8MP front shooter. But since Samsung had released phones with more impressive specs in the past such as the Galaxy S6 and Note 5 which have 2K screens and faster processor, what would make this phone interesting is its juice.
TechRadar reports that the Galaxy A9 would feature a 4000mAh battery, which if true, would be almost twice the capacity of the 2500mAh power pack of the Galaxy S6.
The phone would support Samsung Pay, the mobile payment service of the Seoul-based electronics giant. In terms of connectivity, the Galaxy A9 would offer 4G LTE Cat. 7.
Phone Arena adds that if the phone would not appear yet at CES 2016, it could possibly be unveiled at the Samsung Unpacked even on Feb. 21, one day before the opening of Mobile World Conference 2016 also in Barcelona, Spain.
Phone Arena says these features were confirmed in a recent leaked image of the Galaxy A9 from the FCC documentation.
