Speculations of HTC naming their next flagship phone with Android 6.1 Marshmallow as HTC O2 is in doubt, as according to a leak from tipster@ LlabTooFer, it is said that the flagship name could be HTC Perfume, instead of HTC O2 or HTC One M10.
The launch of the HTC Perfume is expected sometime in late 2016. Reports from International Business Times and tweets from @LlabTooFer say that the HTC Perfume, loaded with Android 6.1 Marshmallow, will also sport the HTC Sense 8.0 interface on the top. The next update on Android OS is expected in June next year, when Google I/O Conference is scheduled, according to reports received from Latin Post. The launch of HTC Perfume could also take place at the 2016 Mobile World Congress, reports say.
Feb. 21 could be the date of the unveiling of the HTC Perfume, along with the launch of HTC One M9, keeping with the tradition of launches taking place at the MWC event. Rumors about HTC O2, originally scheduled to be the flagship name, said that a Snapdragon 820 processor could be the source of power.
There are also rumors that the phone could have a 4GB RAM, 6-inch QHD screen display, 64GB to 128GB expandable internal storage and a 3,500 mAh battery capacity. Other features that are expected include 5MP front shooter camera and 20.7 MP rear camera, but, going by reports from Christian Post, these features, originally expected for HTC O2, could not be there for the HTC Perfume.
