EXO, the South Korean boy band, made a back to back top hits on Billboard for 2014 and 2015 chart year. This year's recap, ranks the band as the top 7 of the best performing artist based on weekly world album which ran from Dec. 6, 2014 to Nov. 28, 2015.
According to Billboard, the nine-member band's success is due to the band's second album, "Exodus." This album was released on April and became the world's No.1 because of its highest sales week among other K-pop albums. They also repackaged their second album with "Love Me Right" and some of their new songs and new singles, this hits No. 2 on world album's chart on June 20.
The "Exodus" album first hit Billboard 200 as the top No.95 and became the world's No.1 because of its largest sales week, making them the only Korean artist ever to top in the U.S. chart in 2015.
The Seoul boy band was able to keep the good ranking for the entire year with only two tracking weeks left, The Korea Times reported.
"Exodus," the first album has 10 songs with R&B, dance and ballad genres, it includes "Call Me Baby" and "First Love."
"Exodus" album is first in the history of K-Pop to mark the best rank in world's chart, topping 2NE1's "Crush" album at No.11 in 2014.
The "Love Me Right" singers are now getting ready with their very first American tour in the first quarter of 2016. EXO will stop by in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Dallas and Toronto.
