The Android 6.0 and 6.0.1 Marshmallow updates are now available for the users of HTC One M9 and HTC One A9, respectively.
In the previous week, HTC Vice President of Product Management Mo Versi announced that the unlocked versions of HTC One M9 and HTC One A9 smartphones will be receiving the latest Android Marshmallow updates. The Android 6.0 and 6.0.1 updates are respectively available for both the smartphones in the U.S.
For users of unlocked HTC One M9, the update was released within 24 hours of official announcement. In the last week, Android 6.0 update was released in two parts for HTC One M9 users.
The first one weighs 99.47 MB and brings 2.11.617.180 version software. The second update is of 1.21 GB and it brings 3.35.617.12 version software, Gadgetz Arena reported.
As of this writing, there is no confirmation on the release of Android 6.0.1 update for HTC One M9 users. The HTC One M9 carrier variants as well as unlocked HTC One M9 handsets outside the U.S. will be getting the Android 6.0 upgrade early in 2016.
The HTC One A9 is one of the first smartphones to arrive preinstalled with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. The Android 6.0.1 update that brings minor bug fixes, performance improvements and 200+ emojis is now available for unlocked edition of HTC One A9.
Like HTC One M9, the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update has been made available in two parts. Both the updates weigh 99.47 MB and 1.21 GB, respectively, Android Police reported.
Unlocked HTC One M8 users have received Android 6.0 at the start of this month. Its carrier variants in the U.S. are expected to receive the update in early 2016.
As far as Android Marshmallow update for other HTC smartphones is concerned, the HTC Butterfly 3 is scheduled to receive it in the first quarter of 2016. Older handsets like HTC One E8, HTC One M8s and various Desire series models like EYE, 826, 816, 626, and 526 are scheduled to receive Android 6.0 in second quarter of the coming year.
