Lowly squad UD Las Palmas (4-9-5, 17 points) would like to continue its ascent from the bottom three as it hosts one of the hottest teams in the 2015-2016 La Liga season, Malaga CF (6-7-5, 23 points), who had won four straight games and were unbeaten in their last six. The match is set to be held at the Estadio Gran Canaria on January 10th, Sunday.
Las Palmas forced top team Athletic Bilbao into a 2-2 draw at the San Mamés Stadium last Sunday, as reported by ESPN.
Los Leones opened the scoring at the 17th minute with a penalty kick by forward Artiz Aduriz. The 1-0 score stood up to the 62nd minute until Las Palmas midfielder Vicente Gómez managed to equalize the count with a right-footed shot from the right side of the box.
Bilbao striker Iñaki Williams netted a goal four minutes later to give the lead back to the hosts, but Los Amarillos' Spanish midfielder Tana leveled it again at the 81st to preserve the point for Quique Setien's men.
Meanwhile, Malaga is currently on a four-game winning streak and six-game unbeaten run as the team moved up to 11th place in the overall standings after being in the relegation three early in the season.
Their last game was a 2-0 thrashing of contending team Celta Vigo at the Estadio La Rosaleda last Saturday, as per Goal.
Brazilian striker Charles and Spanish defender Raul Albentosa provided the goals for Javi Gracia's side at the eighth and 26th minutes respectively en route to the comfortable win.
The predicted result is another 2-0 victory for Malaga.
