Apple iPhone 6S and 6S Plus has been successful in gaining eyeballs and appreciation of users from around the world; however, the present scenario proves that all is not well and Apple is planning to cut down production of both iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S Plus by thirty percent.

The drop in production is resulted due to the decrease in sales during the fourth quarter of 2015. The production of iPhone 6S was higher compared to any of its previous models wherein the decrease in sales level has resulted in mobile handsets getting accumulated. This has resulted in huge difference in supply chain management that has led Apple team to take huge decision.

Although Apple reported that the sales of iPhone 6S and 6S Plus was higher than any other models, it was reported by other gadget experts that the sales volume of both models were down even after weeks of their release.

The slower rate of production has left with an option to increase orders so as to manage supply chain effectively. Also, there have been speculations that Apple can continue with slower pace while sticking on to an option to release a mini version of iPhone 6S - the iPhone 6S Mini - that can include specifications of both iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. This strategy can also let Apple to eliminate the stock on larger or bigger sized handsets.

Experts suggest that the most important cause for decline in sales of iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus could be the lack of description. Apple was not able to convince users regarding differentiation between the Apple iPhone 6 and Apple iPhone 6S. This approach hindered users without an option to upgrade from their existing handsets to newer ones.

The recently released handsets witnessed an upgraded processor, along with 3D touch feature. Both iPhone 6 and 6S employs iOS 9 which again failed to attract users.
