George Clooney's Broadway debut in "Good Night, and Good Luck" is taking a toll on his personal life, with sources indicating that the actor is struggling to balance his demanding work schedule with his marriage to Amal Clooney. The 63-year-old actor, who plays newsman Edward R. Murrow, is reportedly "so tired" from rehearsals, workouts, and performances that his "sexy time with Amal has taken a back seat," according to an insider.

"George is making every effort to keep up with her energy levels but freely admits he's not getting any younger, and it's starting to take a toll," the source said. "He's working long hours in New York on his play and doing his part with the kids and hitting the gym most days, too, so by the time he's had his dinner he's ready to hit the hay."

Clooney himself has acknowledged the effects of aging, stating, "In 30 years, I'm 90. That's a real number. My dad just hit that. And there are some things you're not doing no matter how many granola bars you eat."

Adding to the marital strain is Clooney's new brown hairdo, which he debuted for the role and publicly admitted his wife "hates." "My wife is going to hate it because nothing makes you look older than when an older guy dyes his hair," Clooney said in an interview with the New York Times. "My kids are going to just laugh at me nonstop."

The play, which runs through June 8, requires Clooney to perform for an hour and 40 minutes without intermission, demanding significant energy. "It's his first stage role, and he's nervous and pumped at the same time," an insider revealed. This adds to the stress.

Despite the personal challenges, Clooney's professional life remains active. He is also set to star in Noah Baumbach's upcoming Netflix film, "Jay Kelly," an ensemble dramedy featuring a star-studded cast including Adam Sandler, Laura Dern, and Greta Gerwig.

The film, described as a coming-of-age story, is highly anticipated, although Netflix has yet to announce a release strategy. Baumbach, known for films like "Marriage Story" and "White Noise," is expected to deliver another critically acclaimed project.

Clooney's Broadway role in "Good Night, and Good Luck" is adapted from his 2005 film of the same name, where he played a supporting role and directed. The stage version sees him taking on the lead role of Edward R. Murrow, originally played by David Strathairn.

The play centers on Murrow's confrontation with Senator Joseph McCarthy during the "red scare" era. The 2005 film, which grossed $54.6 million against a $7 million budget and received six Oscar nominations, provides the foundation for Clooney's current stage performance.
