Former Corinthians center back Gil.

Reigning Brazilian Serie A champions Sport Club Corinthians Paulista have reportedly accepted the €10 million transfer fee offered by Chinese Super League squad Shandong Luneng Taishan FC for the services of Brazilian footballer Carlos Gilberto Nascimento Silva, or Gil, on Monday.

China.org reported that 10 percent, or €1 million, of the said transfer fee will be forwarded to Ligue 2 team Valenciennes FC, who owns the said percentage of Gil's economic rights.

Meanwhile, the 28-year-old center back is set to receive a monthly wage of $375,000 from the Orange Fighters, who is now managed by former Corinthians head coach Mano Menezes.

However, Shandong Luneng's representative in Brazil have not formally announced the signing, saying that "we cannot treat this deal as closed before signing the contract, but the proposal was accepted. I mean, the conversations were good, but before putting it on paper, we cannot say that it is closed".

"Everything is sent, the missing details are small. About values, you have to ask Corinthians," he added, via Sambafoot.

The 2015 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A winners now find their team broken to pieces as championship team members were recently sold such as Jadson and Luis Fabiano to China League One squad Tianjin Quanjian, Renato Augusto to CSL team Beijing Guoan, Vagner Love to Ligue 1 team Monaco, and Edu Dracena to fellow Brazilian Serie A club Palmeiras.

Gil played four seasons for Corinthians starting in 2013. He appeared in a total of 183 games in all competitions as a reliable defender for Timão, scoring seven goals in the process.
