Chinese President Xi Jinping, general-secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, has vowed to complete military reforms by 2020.

The Xinhua News Agency released on Tuesday a three-minute animated video to further explain President Xi Jinping’s “Four Comprehensive” strategy. To explain his long-term development plans for China, the state media showed a girl and man dancing and singing.

Since the Lunar New Year on Feb. 8 ushers in the Year of the Monkey, the video also features a baby monkey that is show occasionally throughout the video, reports Global Times.

Under the Four Comprehensive Strategy, the aim is to build a moderately prosperous society, to deepen reforms that would advance the rule of law and strict governance by the Communist Party of China. The man in the video applauds the role of the party in leading the country to progress.

Using Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy” as the closing music, the video ends with Chinese people from different professions joining the chorus in singing the song which ends with the line, “We have the Four Comprehensives, the Chinese dream is not far away!”

So far, about 144,000 Chinese had viewed the video on v.qq.com, as video streaming portal. In the past, China also used another three-minute animation video to explain to Chinese its 13th Five-Year Plan uploaded on several video streaming sites. On YouTube, when it was uploaded in October 2015, the video has so far generated three-digit hits.

Commenting on the latest video, the Hong Kong Free Press said that it would unlikely be nominated for the VMA which recognizes outstanding videos. While Xinhua insisted the video “is not brainwashing at all,” many Chinese netizens described the song as “stupid and disgusting,” but others noted their negative comments were allowed to be posted on social media, although it would likely be eventually deleted like negative comments before on the 5-Year Plan video.
