As written in My Entertainment World, a website that furnishes details on upcoming events and movies, the production of "Transformers 5" will be on May 2016. The website registered the untitled Transformers movie on its Film Production category, with no details as to where the location will take place.

Director Michael Bay has finally confirmed his helming the fifth installment of the franchise, claiming that it is going to be his last of the series.

The director also confirmed the setting to be Chicago. As per interview with Dean Richards from WGN Radio, he asked Bay if he's going to return to explode Michigan Avenue for Optimus Prime's next adventure. The director declined though and said he loved Chicago and that he will come out with few more Transformers.

In another interview with HeyUGuys, he was asked if he would wish to give the franchise to someone else, the director advised it is going to be tough.

A team of top Hollywood writers are penning the script of this movie, with Akiva Goldsman heading the project. He earlier teased that their group will try to research on the mythology of Transformers through Hasbro comic books and toys.

During the end of "Age of Extinction," the savior of humans and leader of the Autobots Optimus Prime had a violent combat with Galvatron, and left Earth to find the Creators who was on a mission to eradicate humans from their planet.

Hardcore fans of the action adventure are anticipating powerful special effects for Optimus Prime and his group of Autobots. They will be on a delegation to resolve scores with their Creators.

Mark Wahlberg will be returning to portray his character Cade Yeager in "Transformers 5." The upcoming movie is expected to hit theaters on 2017.
