Seth Rollins lost his WWE World Heavyweight championship unceremoniously after suffering a knee injury. However, that doesn't mean he won't have significant role in wrestling's biggest stage as plans are reportedly under way for the former title-holder to have a big impact in the main event of Wrestlemania 32.

According to veteran wrestling writer Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rollins is one of the names being considered for the role that was turned down by Batista for Wrestlemania 32.

The latest report is that Shawn Michaels is now being eyed to take the role of guest referee for the main event, while Rollins and the Texas Rattlesnake, Stone Cold Steve Austin also pop up as possible alternatives.

Via WhatCulture:

"Batista turned it down, but WWE could now be looking at Shawn Michaels for the role. Ric Flair recently said that HBK was offered money to work at Royal Rumble, and it would make sense to have in a feature spot at the Texas WrestleMania.

"He isn't going to wrestle, but the special referee spot could work well. Seth Rollins could also be in contention for the gig."

There's no questioning Shawn Michaels' charisma and flair will take the predicted headliner match between Triple H and Roman Reigns to another level. After all, he's Mr. Wrestlemania.

Then again, there's also an argument for Rollins to be part of the main event as well, being a former champion and the 2015 WWE Superstar of the Year.

In fact, WhatCulture wrestling writer Grahame Herbert thinks it would be awesome to see Rollins coming back from the injury and turning his back on his mentor Triple H at the pivotal point of the match.

"What could work well with Rollins, is if he completes his face turn as part of this, counting Hunter down on the night and thus setting up their feud for his return," Herbert stressed.

Rumors had been circulating even before Rollins hurt his knee about possible face turn by the former Shield member. Obviously, that didn't materialize because of the injury, but hey here's another chance of sparking a rivalry with the cerebral assassin at the greatest wrestling event of the year. I'm sure Rollins won't take this for granted.
