“Battlefield” gaming franchise fans have been waiting for the release of “Battlefield 5” trailer this week.

"Battlefield" gaming franchise fans have been eagerly waiting for more information concerning the upcoming installment, following the announcement that DICE is working on "Battlefield 5." However, the gaming company is still quiet about the game, and so far details that have emerged concerning the game are mere rumors.

EA DICE senior Video and Media director/editor, Randy Evans, twitted on Wednesday, Feb. 3 that a "big trailer" is surfacing this week. The tweet made players believe that the official "Battlefield 5" trailer will be revealed this week.

On the contrary, a trailer for the long-awaited game was not released, but instead DICE unveiled a follow up for "Mirror's Edge Catalyst." Although many fans have been waiting for the "MEC" follow up since the release of the first game in 2008, they were disillusioned by the fact that there are no updates concerning "Battlefield 5" game and that DICE continues being mum.

Fans are even more frustrated because any news coming out of the gaming company is immediately believed to be about "Battlefield 5." It is certain that the game will premiere at some point, but it remains unknown when exactly the game will make its way to the gaming consoles.

Currently, DICE is not prepared to talk about the game. According to Gamingbolt, a particular Twitter user asked the technical director, Johan Anderson, when people will be receiving information about "Battlefield 5" and when the game will be available. Anderson seemed not to have a succinct answer.

The same publication reported that the same Twitter user directed the same question to DICE, and the company's Twitter handle said that they will announce the game on the micro blogging site as soon as it is available.
