Will Ferrell NBA Game

Will Ferrell was caught on cam as he throws a ball at a cheerleader during a halftime at an NBA game between the Pelicans and the Lakers.

Ferrell was sitting courtside with Mark Wahlberg, who he was verbally abusing, Fox News reported.

The 47-year-old Hollywood actor said that Wahlberg was threatening Ferrell's family. The latter was chosen to shoot a basketball at halftime, but after his outrage, the announcer took away the basketball.

The "Anchorman" star picked up another ball and threw it to one of the Pelicans' cheerleaders, who was knocked down to the floor.

Ferrell tried to make a run for it, but was grabbed by the court security personnel dressed in yellow.

Apparently, the scene was staged. Ferrell and Wahlberg was filming for an upcoming movie called "Daddy's Home," Yahoo News reported.

The two Hollywood stars was at the Wednesday NBA game for their movie along with Linda Cardellini. Ferrell portrays an executive who married a divorced lady with two young children. Trying his best to be a step dad, Ferrell is suddenly caught off guard when the children's father returns to the picture.

Fans who were watching the game whipped out their camera, phone and tablets to capture Ferrell's tantrum in the court. Watch one here.

The film will be released in 2015, but there is no definite release date yet. "Daddy's Home" will be directed by Sean Anders, who took on "Horrible Bosses 2," and John Morris, who is given credits for writing "Dumb and Dumber To" and "We're the Millers."
