“GTA 6” is Rockstar Games' rumored sequel to GTA 5 that will likely be released for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

It is almost two and a half years since the release of "Grand Theft Auto V" on consoles, and it is about one year since the game was released on PC. However, rumors are already flying about "Grand Theft Auto 6."

While these rumors have no confirmation from game developer Rockstar, it is worthwhile to imagine what the next "GTA" installment will look like.

"GTA 6" will be released sometime in 2018, with a launch allowance, which may be delayed up to 2020, considering that Rockstar will be busy working on DLC for "GTA V," according to Neuro Gadget. A 2020 release date makes sense given that "GTA" games are big, intricate pieces of machinery that requires much time to develop. Fans should expect seeing only one "GTA" game this console generation.

According to the same publication, the game map will comprise of all the previous games' maps. As result, contrary to picking one city, the developer company will incorporate Liberty City, Vice City, Los Santos, and its surroundings. There will be a new travel feature, "teleportation," which allows gamers to move from one map to another.

Another most far-fetched speculation is that the game may eventually introduce a female protagonist in the mainline series. According to The Guardian, when asked why "GTA V" lacked a female protagonist, co-founder of Rockstar Dan Houser said that the idea of being masculine was central to the storyline of "GTA V." A major concern is whether Rockstar will finally be public to introduce a female protagonist.

The co-founder added that it appears "GTA V's" magpie collage of effects and reference points mirrors its main writer's mindset. The upcoming game may feature three protagonists to allow the developer create nuanced stories as opposed to a set of archetypes.

Houser said, "Rather than seeming like you've got this super-criminal who can do everything effortlessly, they're all good and bad at different things."

There will be increased rumors until "GTA 6" is finally announced, which may not be any time soon.
