Rumors surrounding the release date of "Grand Theft Auto 6" are disillusioning. The news does not come as a surprise since a lot of negativity has been surrounding the game for several weeks now.
It was previously reported that Leslie Benzies was leaving the development team of the game. Latest news about the game is about when the game could be launched and details on the latest developments. According to Neurogadget, the game developer, Rockstar, has not yet begun working on "GTA 6." Furthermore, Rockstar has not given any official statement on whether the game is in development or not, which shows that it has been hit by delays.
The publication revealed that one big factor that could be causing the delay of the game is the departure of Benzies. He was very important on sabbatical for more than a year before it was reported earlier this year that he was quitting.
Benzies' departure spurred many rumors that "GTA 6" would delay since he was closely involved in the development of "GTA 5." However, Rockstar immediately gave a statement that it had already assigned Benzies' responsibility to others within the firm and this gave an assurance to fans that the game would arrive sooner than later.
Based on the latest speculations concerning the game, it seems "GTA 6" will follow the four-year release format adopted by many other games in the series. Is this format applies, it is projected that "Grand Theft Auto 6" will arrive not earlier than 2018. The timeline would enable the game to hit Xbox Two and PlayStation 5, which are slated for a 2017 release.
Meanwhile, there are reports that another "GTA" game is in the works and it is believed that it will be focused on the city of New York.
