Tom Clancy’s "The Division” is set to receive patch 1.2 to get additional gears and other improvements.

Eye tracking technology developer Tobii has recently joint ventures with Ubisoft. "Tom Clancy's The Division" is set to be released on PC version this coming March 8, with a confirmation that eye tracking functions is added to the game.

This version of the game let its players use compatible sensors, which can be used to toggle from several gameplay features purposely created for the use of the eye tracking technology. Tobii's EyeX and SteelSeries' Sentry Eye trackers are some of the sensors that can be used in the game.

"Tom Clancy's The Division" was first launched in E3 2013 with a promising lifelike trailer, which attracted several gamers from then on. Ubisoft promised their enthusiasts that a totally different type of game will be seen in "The Division," compared to Bungie's "Destiny." It appears that Ubisoft was able to keep their word because of this later partnership with Tobii.

Seen in the game's trailer is Tobii's EyeX sensor, it was used as an example on how the eye tracking technology functions in the game. Using the EyeX sensor, players can simply move their eyes or make subtle eye movements which will right away give options or actions on the screen according to the eye movement, MyInforms.com reported.

To illustrate more on how the eye tracking functions works in the game, for instance, player is not looking directly at the mini-map, it will lighten into the background and will only be visible again if the player sets its eyes back to the map. One other functions of the eye tracking technology is that teammates will be able to locate an opponent if another player looked at the target, because by looking at a target, a marker will tag it immediately as an enemy. The environment can be changed and corresponding buttons will display cover-eligible things by simply scanning thru the eyes. It shows that mouse or thumbsticks are really not necessarily needed if the eye tracking technology is used in the game.

Tobii is aiming to develop more than 100 games, which will use the eye tracking technology later on this year. The eye tracking wearable headset together with VR incorporation is currently on the works, according to Game Spot.
