"Mortal Kombat X," a popular fighting video game, has added a slew of new characters from horror movies and science fiction to its newest installment. These characters include Jason Voorhees from "Friday the 13th," Leather face, Alien, Xenomorph, Triborg and Bo Rai Cho. Most of these characters shall be released with official launch of "Mortal Kombat XL" and "Kombat Pack 2" on March 1.
It is said that the present roll of new characters have not succeeded in meeting demands of fans. There have been insistent requests for introducing other movie characters as fighter avatars in the game, Movie News Guide reported.
Most popular demands include characters from horror movies like Ash Williams from "Evil Dead," Pinhead from "Hellraiser" and Pumpkin head from a movie of the same name. Ash Williams is one of the good guys whose weapons of choice include a chainsaw and a boom-stick short gun. Pinhead's head is full of needles and he delights in torturing his victims before killing them. Pumpkin head kills by shredding his victims to pieces.
Meanwhile, "Mortal Kombat XL" and "Kombat Pack 2" will add four new characters to their roster. Two of these characters - Leatherface and Alien - are from horror movies. Bo Rai Cho is a character from earlier "Mortal Kombat" versions, while Triborg is a quad-borg, Christian Post reported.
