The iPhone is even branded as the top most gadget in Facebook with over 400 million people expressing interest in owning one. Citing a research by Cancord, International Business Times mentions that Apple accounted for around 92 percent of profit garnered by smartphones in 2015. Most recently, Apple sold its highest number of iPhones - over 74.78 million phones - in first quarter of 2016.

Meanwhile, according to CNET, it is difficult to compare iOS with Android. It maintains that iOS offers a limited and simple experience ensuring that users convenience; however, Android offers a more flexible and customized experience. Though iPhone has been trying to update its features to match up with those of Android's, it is yet to do more catching up. It is said that Android registers a definite win over iPhone with its "Alerts" system. Though iOS 5 had introduced such a system, it is no match for timely, smart and efficient updates provided by Android Alerts.

Other areas, according to the same publication, where Android scores over iOS include former's GPS navigation, Google Voice integration and user interface.

Citing One Pulse's survey results, it has been mentioned that sixty eight percent of iPhone users and eighty one percent of Android users agree that iPhone shall always remain more popular than Android phones. Seventy percent of users feel that this is because Apple brand is expensive and, hence, iPhone shall remain an aspirational device.
