Xiaomi Mi Note vs Sony Xperia C5 Ultra: Which should you buy?

Both Sony Xperia C5 Ultra and Xiaomi Mi Note have garnered high popularity in the market.

Xiaomi Mi Note was released more than a year ago (January 2015), and eight months later, Sony Xperia C5 Ultra arrived (August 2015) to give it a stiff competition. Since both devices have garnered high popularity in the market, below is a comparison of these two devices to aid customer choice.

Xiaomi Mi Note is a lighter, smaller and more compact in design compared to Sony Xperia C5 Ultra. Xiaomi Mi Note weighs 161 grams and has a screen size of 5.7 inches, while Xperia C5 Ultra is heavier, weighing at 187 grams, and bigger, with a screen size of 6 inches. Both offer similar resolutions of 1080 x 1920 pixels. Neuro Gadget mentions that both phones have a similar aluminum frame design, and the only difference is in placement of rear cameras.

When it comes to hardware, Xiaomi Mi Note has a more powerful processor as it runs on Snapdragon 801 chipset and a quad core Krait 4000 processor, which clocks at 2.5 GHz. Xiaomi Mi Note is supported by 3GB of RAM and Adreno 320 graphics card. On the other hand, Xperia C5 Ultra is powered by a Mediatek MT6752 chipset and an octa-core Cortex A53 processor that clocks at 1.7GHz. It is supported by 2GB of RAM and Mali-T760MP2 graphics card.

According to NDTV, Sony Xperia C5 Ultra ranks higher in terms of memory. Both devices may have an internal storage of 16GB, but Xperia C5 Ultra offers expandable storage up to 200GB through micro SD card slot. There is no such scope for expansion in Xiaomi Mi Note; however, it comes in two variants - one with a 16GB memory and another with a 64GB internal storage.

Sony Xperia C5 Ultra offers a better camera as both its front and rear cameras offer a 13MP resolution. Xiaomi Mi Note, on the other hand, has a 13MP primary camera and a 4MP secondary camera that is quite okay with selfie lovers.

Xiaomi Mi Note offers a bigger battery capacity at 3000 mAH, while Xperia C5 Ultra offers a 2930 mAH battery capacity. Both Xiaomi Mi Note and Xperia C5 Ultra has a non-removable batteries.
