Nintendo NX confirmed as a gaming console on Holiday 2016 release date and preloaded with Zelda NX?

Nothing has been known about Nintendo NX, other than it is a mystifying device that won't be released in 2016.

The Nintendo NX release date is confirmed to happen during the Holiday season of 2016 and the gaming device is most likely to come out preloaded with a new Zelda game title, a new report said. It was suggested too that the NX is a console that will replace the Nintendo Wii U.

"I can confirm that the Nintendo NX is definitely launching in 2016 and Zelda NX will be a launch window release, so it could either launch on NX or release shortly after the release of the NX," Nintendo gaming-focused blog site NintenGen said in a report.

While the latest development essentially belies an earlier statement by Nintendo that the NX is an entirely new concept and is not designed as sequel to any of the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS, NintenGen said that the inclusion of Zelda NX to the package somehow indicates that the upcoming gaming device is more of a console and not the hybrid machine it was thought to be.

The report pointed to a Nintendo insider as source of its information, adding that "I have verified their employee identification, name and current status with Nintendo and have been given visual proof of the information."

NintenGen, however, made clear that its source stopped short of sharing the juicier details on the NX, saying that "further information of the Nintendo NX functionality, specs and the controller interface are still secrets that are very deeply hidden within Nintendo."

Yet the same insider apparently provided details on the planned Nintendo releases for the Wii U that will be rolled out prior to the NX push in the last few months of 2016. Among the things to expect is an upcoming DLC for the Minecraft Wii U edition, Mario and Sonic and StarFox Zero - all of which are scheduled to come out before June 2016.

By the second half of the year, Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem and the much-delayed Zelda Wii U will be issued. As indicated in the same report, the Zelda Wii U will serve as the cue for Nintendo fans to anticipate the NX unboxing that should follow shortly with the Zelda NX in tow.

Earlier, it was reported that the Nintendo NX will arrive with remakes of popular classics like Final Fantasy VII and XV, which according to iDigitalTimes seems to align with the persistent rumors that the processing power packed with the gaming machine could easily overwhelm both the Sony PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Xbox One.

Nintendo has already committed that updates on the Nintendo NX will be issued soon, likely in the few months ahead, which appears to support the NintenGen report that claims a Nintendo NX touchdown before Christmas of 2016 as shown in the clip below:
