Jason Statham will reprise his role as Arthur Bishop in the upcoming "Mechanic: Resurrection" movie.

Although "Fast And Furious 8" is yet to start filming in New York, the movie is already expected to head towards Europe soon to shoot in some of its exotic locations.

The main setting of the hotly-anticipated movie is in the U.S., particularly  in New York. However, it is reported that several of its big scenes will take place in Iceland, in a small town of Akranes. Most of the scenes will reportedly be revolving around the harbour and the cement fields.

In fact, one of the biggest man-made explosions ever to have taken place in the whole of Europe will be staged for "Fast and Furious 8," Iceland Review reported. The said-explosion is deemed as a critical twist in the movie. The movie's crew has even shipped several heavily armoured vehicles to shoot the same.

Apart from Iceland, "Fast And Furious 8" producers are also said to be eyeing Cuba as their next shooting destination. The franchise is known for exploring foreign locations like Dubai and Rio, which was featured in its past instalments.

Meanwhile, the eighth instalment is expected to feature a badass female villain. Rumors are rife that the filmmakers are eyeing Charlize Theron after watching her groundbreaking performance in 2015's "Mad Max: Fury Road."

While it is unclear where the negotiations stand currently, sources close to the situation told Variety that the studio is eager to add Theron to the ensemble cast that include the franchise's returning actors like Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson and Jason Statham.

"Fast and Furious 8" will be directed by F. Gary Gray with whom the actress had worked together before in "The Italian Job." However, Universal has not yet commented on the speculation, while the actress has also remained mum over her possible inclusion in the upcoming movie.

Meanwhile, "Fast And Furious 8" will see the return of Lucas Black, who was seen in "Fast & Furious 3: Tokyo Drift." Black will be reprising his role as Sean Boswell and is likely to play a bigger role this time.

Since Brian O'Conner will be absent from the upcoming movie, owing to Paul Walker's untimely death in November 2013, it is highly possible that Boswell will play the right hand and partner-in-crime of Diesel's Dominic.
