Kevin Spacey plays President Frank Underwood in Netflix's "House of Cards," which is expected to start its fifth season in March 2017.

There are rumors that Claire Underwood could become the next President in "House of Cards" season 4.

It was seen in the last season that the First Lady walked out on her husband, and leaving many unanswered questions, according to iDigital Times. This means that the President will now be doing the campaign for his reelection as a bachelor, without the strong support of his wife. This could possibly hurt his chances to be re-elected as the President of The United States.

In this regard, rumors abound that the First Lady feels slighted by the way she has been treated by her husband. Hence, in an act of revenge she may also stand as a candidate for the Presidential election, thus hampering his re-election chances in a major way, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The upcoming season will be focusing more on the policy making of the US Government and how they do dirty politics for their own benefit. The fourth season is also set to focus more on the leading ladies of the show.

Also, Doug Stamper (Michael Kelly) will be seen back in full swing in the upcoming season as he was reappointed as the President's Chief of Staff. He will be back at doing the dirty work of the Underwoods. Stamper also killed a woman whom he loved to protect his master's presidency. Also, the teasers for the upcoming season state that the President and Stamper will continue to murder people for their party's benefit.

In the recently released promo, which is titled as "Breaking Ground," it can be seen that the President and his aide Stamper are digging a hole in the middle of nowhere, deep within the woods. Before the audience could guess what is going on, the camera suddenly zooms out and the audience is taken to a press event.

Another teaser, which was titled as "Putting America back on Track," shows the flashback of the murder of Zoe Barnes (Kate Mara). To top it all up, all the teasers are produced with mind blowing, blood pumping music.

The upcoming season of the hit Netflix series "House of Cards" is just on the brink of getting released on March 4. The series was also recently renewed for the 5th season.
