The Division will see 'Underground' and 'Survival' expansion pack coming to Xbox One a month before other platforms.

Fans have eagerly anticipated for the release of "The Division," and now it is official that Xbox One users will be getting two expansion packs a month before other platforms.

The announcement comes as no surprise because Microsoft has an exclusive agreement with the game studio, according to Polygon. It could also be because Sony has acquired to get contents from "Call of Duty: Black Ops" ahead of Microsoft, as seen in the 2015 E3 press conference.

"The Division" expansion packs are "Underground" and "Survival." The company shared information and content about the two expansion packs via a blog.

Based on the blog post, "Underground" places gamers in the underground region of New York, which is full of enemies to kill and loot to acquire. The map layout is a labyrinthine with different paths to take and explore. On the other hand, "Survival" creates survival conditions in the game where gamers must collect supplies and resources to stay alive.

The blog post as well revealed updates to be implemented when the game is released on all platforms. The updates are the inclusion of end-game event for gamers who complete the game quickly, the capability to trade items between party members, and an extra feature to the Dark Zone, which is an area in the map meant for high-level players.

Creative director Magnus Jansen said via Gamespot that their plan for the game is to offer new experiences for gamers with each release of the expansion. Evident in the description, "Underground" is a maze like experience for gamers and "Survival" is a resource management expansion.

Jansen said, "We've decided to be ambitious with the innovation in the DLC expansions. At the heart of each one is a completely new experience; we're not primarily adding a little bit 'more of the same' of what's available at launch. We want to build on the experience that's within the game."
