Speculations are rife that Frank Underwood may be killed in "House of Cards" Season 4 in an unexpected twist.
In the fifth episode, fans saw that Lucas Goodwin tries to kill Underwood, but the President's favourite bodyguard Edward Meechum saves him. Meechum also manages to kill Goodwin, but not without taking a few bullets upon himself and dying, according to NY Times.
Peter Russo and Zoe Barnes were killed at the hands of the power-hungry President, and they haunt him like hell when he is unconscious. Russo and Barnes appear in the much-hallucinated nightmares to the President. This happens when he is waiting for a liver transplant, wounded with two bullets. Rumors abound that the President may die and his wife may then take the center stage.
On the other hand, Claire Underwood attends the G7 summit and she tries to make peace with the Russian president when she forces him to sign the oil agreement. She is shown to be the absolute lady in charge in this season, as she hardly flinches about anything, thus showing her strong character. Her mother dies in this season, and tells her to use the death as a ploy to get votes for their party.
Meanwhile, the President declares his wife to be his running mate, and the next Vice President of The United States. This does make everyone go off balance, but not as much as the Conways. They are introduced in this season, with Will Conway as the Governor of New York. With Heather Dunbar forced out of the race for the next elected President, Conway quickly accelerates and gains lead in almost every district.
The entire family is shown to quickly become the sweethearts of the entire nation, with their cute clips broadcasted all over Twitter. Hence, it is safe to say here that they hate the Underwoods, of course. They are young and they are determined, but will they be able to defeat the unshaken Underwoods?
Meanwhile, other important characters like Doug Stamper also play a major role in this season. For starters, Stamper bumps up a man illegally off the liver transplant list so that it goes to the President instead. There is a "Lady Stamper," also in the guise of LeAnn Harvey who sticks with the First Lady in her shenanigans. Harvey revealed in an interview to Hollywood Reporter that the First Lady may also follow in the steps of her husband and use her to murder people.
