Jennifer Garner recently opened about her family and her newly released film "Miracles from Heaven." Stopping by "The Today Show" on March 16, Wednesday, the actress said the film encouraged her to become a better mother to her three children with Ben Affleck, namely Violet Affleck, 10, Seraphina Rose Elizabeth Affleck, 7, and Samuel Affleck, 4.
"The thing about this film was it kind of encouraged me to reengage in just participating, not just believing, actually participating in raising my children," Garner said of "Miracles from Heaven." She added that doing so will give her children the same background her parents gave her and her sisters.
After 10 years of marriage, Garner and Ben, who is set to star in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," separated in 2015 but they have yet to divorce. The actress confirmed that they are "doing really well" and their children are "great."
"They'll be getting up and going to school soon," Garner said of their children. She added that Ben "is there" and he will be taking their children and they will "make it work."
According to Garner, it is not easy to go through the period when she and Ben had marital problems. On the other hand, the actress said she has found people to be "so warm and loving" to her that it has not been nearly as bad as expected.
In addition, Garner revealed that she and Ben took their children home to West Virginia to be baptized in her family's church. The actress said she grew up going to church every Sunday.
In "Miracles from Heaven," Garner plays Christy Beam, the mother of Anna Beam (Kylie Rogers) who is suffering from a pseudo-obstruction motility disorder and is using feeding tubes for nutrition because she is unable to eat. The screenplay is written by Randy Brown based on the memoir of the same name by the real-life Christy Beam.
Columbia Pictures released "Miracles from Heaven" on March 16, Wednesday. Directed by Patricia Riggen, the drama film also stars Martin Henderson, Queen Latifah, John Carrol Lynch, Eugenio Derbez, Brighton Sharbino and Zach Sale.
