The rumors that work is already underway leading to the Surface Pro 5 release date later this 2016 further gained ground as Amazon starts selling the 2014 version, the Surface Pro 3, for as low as $449 with 128GB of internal memory plus the option to expand storage space thanks to a built-in microSDXC memory card slot.
For most Windows enthusiast, the SP3 is nearly the equal of the Surface Pro 4 as the hardware specs separating the two devices are in most cases identical or reflective of the same capabilities. As pointed by BGR, the Windows-powered Pro 3 tablet marked down by Amazon to $449 is a steal as the package boasts too of a 2.4GHz Intel Atom processing chip that Microsoft paired with 4GB of RAM.
The mobile workhorse sports a 10.8-inch display that is not only optimal for productivity on-the-go but also serves as the crystal clear viewing window for the device's camera combo of 8-megapixel on rear and 3.5-megapixel on front.
But really the greatest thing about the Surface Pro 3 is its Windows 10 operating system that Microsoft declares is its best Windows version ever. Windows fans have until April 2 to grab the Amazon offer as BGR noted that the deal is on limited run.
Or they can instead hold out for a bit more as in past cases the sale of old device models signal the arrival of the better replacements, which for the Surface Pro line means the exciting 2016 touchdown of the Surface Pro 5.
The next-generation Windows hybrid tablet, if speculations are to be believed, is likely past the development stage and should commence mass production soon. According to Neurogadget, the 2-in-1 machine will run on Intel Skylake platform that not only will bump up the computing power but also increase its operating hours in a single charge. At least two more battery hours will be added from the last version, the report said.
It is rumored too that for the SP5, the screen size will be stretched to 13.3-inch, making it a direct competitor of the 12.9-inch Apple iPad Pro, with the display to beam in immersive 4K resolution. Also receiving significant upgrades is the Surface Pen that in the upcoming iteration will come with a power button, LED notification and a charging pot.
And on release date, which is rumored to happen at the start of Q3 2016, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will unbox with Windows 10 Redstone 2 with the starting price at a very tempting level of $899.
