Initially, WorkSafe BC spokesperson Trish Knight Chernecki said it was not clear if the production had followed protocols to alert them to the incident. Eventually, she told Entertainment Weekly that they were in communication with 20th Century Fox and producers.

In a statement obtained by the publication, 20th Century Fox said O'Brien was transferred immediately to a local hospital in Vancouver for observation and treatment. The film studio also announced that production on "Maze Runner: The Death Cure" will be shut down while the actor recovers.

"Our thoughts go out to Dylan for a full and speedy recovery," 20th Century Fox said. While early reports claim that the actor is expected to recover fully, his publicist Jennifer Allen was still waiting for details of his current condition.
