No MacBook Air 2016 Release, No Problem; Xiaomi To Launch Ultrabook Similar To MacBook Air

Fans should expect to see new MacBooks before WWDC, slated for June.

With Apple's launch event set in a few hours, there are rumors claiming that MacBook Air release is not happening. Consumers do not have to worry as Xiaomi will reportedly release its own ultrabook that is similar to Apple's laptop.

There are rumors that Apple will axe MacBook Air in favor of the 12-inch MacBook. Rumors afloat that Apple is working on the second generation of Apple MacBook. MacWorld reported that MacBook Air 2016 will not materialize as the product line will be ceased due to the more powerful successor of 12-inch MacBook. The publication predicted that the 12-inch MacBook will most likely have a successor as it celebrates its first birthday this month.

Consumers may never see the MacBook Air 2016 release and it could be because of the 12-inch Apple MacBook. Meanwhile, other sources are saying that Apple will discontinue the 12-inch laptop since the public is still clamoring for the MacBook Air 2016.

MacBook Air and Pro 2016 are rumored to retain the sizes of the original, but will be packed with powerful specs and features, including the latest Intel Skylake processors. The laptops will also run with the latest OS X El Capitan.

Xiaomi To Fill In MacBook Air Void?

According to Gizbot, Chinese growing tech giant Xiaomi will release an ultrabook that will battle head on with MacBook devices on the second half of the year. Other reports are saying that the company delays the release of this new laptop.

The new Xiaomi laptop is reported to come with aluminium alloy chassis, Full HD screen display, Intel Core i7 chip and NVidia GTX GPU. Being a Xiaomi product, this new laptop will be relatively cheap and will be priced 2999 Yuan.
