The Maceo New Tech High School In Texas, Scot Pankey, gave all of his students a one-of-a-kind project assignment. He encouraged them to come up with a music video of "Uptown Funk", a Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson hit, while offering to be featured in the project. All students from his six theater classes, were delighted with the offer.

"I told my students up front that I was not born a dancer, but I would love to perform in front of the camera with all of you. Together, we could learn from the project and have a great time," Pankey shared with the Dallas Morning News. "I was just lucky to have students, who were willing to cooperate with the idea," he added.

The theater class teacher, along with his student, did their best and, true enough, their efforts paid off. On Sunday, their impressive video went viral on Youtube, achieving 4 million views since its release.

"I heard 'Uptown Funk' before Christmas and I just thought it was great. Maceo New Tech High School is a project-based school. This means that the teachers give the students a specific project with its guidelines, divided into teams, and pushed to come up with the best solutions," he elaborated.

"I gave them three weeks before the final presentation," Pankey said.

Right after the online release of the video, it started making hits with Bruno Mars, himself, noticing.

"I cried at the end of the video. I would like to thank everyone who was involved," Mars posted on his Facebook account.
