Harrison Ford gave some advice to the actors auditioning to play the role of Han Solo in the forthcoming "Star Wars" spin-off film during a visit at "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."  While the "Indiana Jones" star felt flattered that a lot of young actors are interested in getting the title role, he discouraged them of pursuing it.

"Don't do it," Ford told Ellen DeGeneres when asked if he had any advice for the next star taking the much-coveted role. "It seems like everything is going swimmingly and you put in 25-30 years and then they just let you go! We're done with you, thanks very much."

DeGeneres also asked Ford to weigh in on the forthcoming Han Solo spinoff that is slated for release on May 25, 2018. The 73-year-old actor made it clear that the producers of the "Star Wars" spinoff are looking for a young Han Solo and not a new Han Solo, E! News reported.

The comments of Ford came days after he divulged via Entertainment Weekly's Tumblr account that he had been in dispute with the showrunners to kill off Han Solo decades ago but to no avail. "I think it's a fitting use of the character," the "Raiders of the Lost Ark" star claimed. "I've been arguing for Han Solo to die for about 30 years, not because I was tired of him or because he's boring, but his sacrifice for the other characters would lend gravitas and emotional weight."

Meanwhile, "Star Wars" writer Lawrence Kasdan shared that the forthcoming Han Solo spin-off will not be so much of an origin story. He said it will not revolve around where Han Solo was born and how he was raised; rather, it will be featuring a glimpse of his early adulthood, Standard UK shared.

The production of the upcoming Han Solo spin-off is set to start on January 2017. While the title of the "Star Wars" spinoff remains unclear as of yet, Variety reported that Lucasfilm and Disney have already screened more than 2,000 actors for the much-coveted role.

Among the popular names being attached to the yet-to-be-titled "Star Wars" spinoff include Miles Teller, Jack Reynor and Anthony Ingruber. While there seemed to be a big shoes to fill for the yet-to be-named young Han Solo, both Lucasfilm and Disney are confident that the upcoming spinoff will live up to fans' expectations.
