EA DICE has not yet shared the specifics of "Battlefield 5," but there are few details that the rumor mill has already provided. Some of these details include the release date, the plot, the game's development, and the possibility of a "Battlefield 5" Beta.

That being said, it is also known that the developers are doing away with DLCs for "Battlefield 4" and this is a hint that they will be concentrating on "Battlefield 5." Most recently, they unveiled "Battlefield Hardline" which featured many of the elements in "Battlefield 4."

The only thing exclusive about it was that it included cops and robbers instead of militaries. Many gamers think that "Hardline" has left them yearning for the upcoming "Battlefield 5" game. In regard to this, here are the things that gamers need to know about the imminent game:

It is already proven that "Battlefield 5" is in development. What gamers are not sure about is what EA DICE will call the new game.

Recently, a listing of "Battlefield 5" was witnessed at German retailer World of Games, and this is a pointer that the game's name could just remain as "Battlefield 5," not mentioning that retailers are already gearing up for the expected announcement.

In December 2015, EA DICE's development director announced to the public that he was going to shift off from "Star Wars Battlefront" to join the next "Battlefield" game. This is enough evidence that "Battlefield 5" is undoubtedly in development.

Although nothing is confirmed, gamers should presume that EA DICE will release a "Battlefield 5" Beta before the game is finally released to the public. This owes to the fact that the developer also hosted Betas for both "Battlefield 4" and "Battlefield Hardline." If it is indeed released, "Battlefield 5" Beta will arrive a few weeks before the eventual game's release.

According to reports, "Battlefield 5" is expected to arrive within the third or fourth quarter of this year, Gaming Bolt reported. Therefore, it will arrive in the period between July and December.

Unless the developer is forced to delay it, the game could arrive just after the E3 2016. It was even once witnessed that the listing at World of Games listed "Battlefield 5" release date as Oct. 26.

Besides these, there is also a likelihood for an early release date for some gamers. It can be noted that EA access users always have an advantage of getting a "Battlefield" game earlier than other players.

EA has not yet revealed the exact time it plans to make a "Battlefield 5" statement. If, however, it follows protocol, then an announcement is likely to get made in the first half of the year.

As for the plot, it was initially announced that "Battlefield 5" will be returning to its military roots, Gamespot reported. This is positive news for those who did not like "Battlefield Hardline" which was not military-based.

There are also rumors circulating claiming that "Battlefield 5" may embrace a World War I setting. If turns out to be true, the game will have big changes compared to its predecessor.

Much rumor yet surrounds "Battlefield 5" and all gamers can do is keep their ears open for an announcement by EA DICE.
